Onyx was first heard in 1993 when they won a soul train award for best rap album of the year...
Onyx has been in the top rap game since they even started - real music, straight hardcore, grimey, non-commercial music.
They were the image of the street.
Da MadFace felt that Hip-Hop has gone too far from what real Hip-Hop is.
So in 2006, Fredro Starr created a group called Yung Onyx, a younger version of Onyx with the same energy in their veign. Now it's their turn to bring back that real Hip-Hop.
In 2006, they released "Bang Out" mixtape and made some noise in New York.
Nowadays, rappers rap about jewerly, car, girls but it's not a manner of representing the street in any term.
Right now, our aim is to make the globe a Mad Face to bring back the real grimy style in all sort of thingz.
Music, videos, clothing, etc....
Some people are still struggling the day-to-day life, so we're representing all these people who are still keeping a hard mentality and facing the pain.
